Hermantown’s Utility Commission manages the water, sewer, and stormwater utilities, while also being responsible for making recommendations to the City Council regarding utility rates and improvements to be constructed and financed.

 

The Utility Commission is composed of Doug Kerfeld (Chairman), Eric Albrecht (Vice Chairman), William Berg (Secretary/Recorder), Rob McLachlan, and Jim Samberg. City Councilor John Geissler serves as the liaison, and Janice Shepherd, from Hermantown’s Utility Billing Department, represents the city staff.

The Utility Commission meets the third Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m., unless the date overlaps with holidays.
