The goal of the Communications and Community Engagement Manager is to provide clear, consistent, and reliable information to residents and businesses on City issues that impact their lives and experiences in Hermantown. We practice transparency, open-mindedness, and inclusivity so that we are assisting in the flow of information and participation to and from residents and City officials so that both groups have a clear understanding of what is possible to accomplish together and for what each group is responsible.

In April of 2019, the City of Hermantown hired Joe Wicklund to be the its first-ever Communications and Community Engagement Manager. From media needs to assisting residents in navigating government-related issues, Communications and Community Engagement is a designed to be highly-accessible and provide clarity, understanding, and connection between local government and residents.
