Our City Council is composed of four elected officials who join the City’s Mayor in representing Hermantown and all of its residents. Just as important, our City Council members are your neighbors, friends, co-workers, fellow residents, and more. They have deep relationships with many in our wonderful community, and they’ve raised their hand to help work for what is best in Hermantown.

The current Hermantown City Council includes Ellie Jones, John Geissler, Mayor Wayne Boucher, Andy Hjelle, and Brian LeBlanc.

When are City Council Meetings?

Hermantown’s City Council traditionally meets the first and third Monday of each month, with exceptions for holidays. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Hermantown Governmental Services Building at 5105 Maple Grove Road.

Can I speak at a City Council Meeting?

Yes, and your contribution is encouraged! Public discussion points are outlined in each agenda for City Council meetings, with open discussion for non-agenda items at the beginning of each meeting and agenda-specific discussions at the appropriate points in the agenda. Hermantown’s Community Engagement Manager can assist you in how to speak at these meetings, both before or during the meeting itself.

What is the Pre-Agenda Meeting?

The City Council meets at 4:30 p.m. prior to the City Council meeting, traditionally on the first and third Mondays of each month. It is an informal meeting where no action is taken, but the Council and City Staff can discuss what is on the upcoming agenda. It is a public meeting, but there is not a public input portion of the meeting.
