Hermantown to Join in “Be The Light” Movement
Hermantown, Minn. – The City of Hermantown has joined more than 150 communities across Minnesota in participating in the “Be The Light” movement. The City, in concert with its partnership with Hermantown Community Schools, will turn on the lights at Fichtner Field for 20 minutes and 20 seconds at 8:20 p.m. each Monday in April and May.
The movement, which started in Texas, has spread across the country as a way for schools and communities to provide a small symbol of hope and support for students, staff, and all community members who are not able to connect with each other during the COVID-19 health pandemic.
Hermantown’s “Be The Light” contribution is set to begin Monday, April 6, 2020. The public is reminded to enjoy the lights from afar and continue to observe necessary social distancing guidelines related to COVID-19.
