2011 GRANT AND FOUNDATION FUNDING

 

$750 Grant from the Enbridge Safe Community Program

 

The Hermantown Volunteer Fire Department recently received a $750 Grant from the Enbridge Energy Company, Inc. to be used toward the purchase of firefighting foam, which is essential for the department to be prepared in the event of a structure or wildland fire.   Randy Wilberg, the Safety, Training and Compliance Coordinator - Superior Region, is shown presenting the donation to Mike Marshall, Deputy Chief – HVFD on July 7,2011.

$2,261.00 Grant from FM Global Fire Prevention Grant Program

FM Global, one of the world's largest commercial property insurers, donated $2,261 to the Hermantown Volunteer Fire Department. Troy Gist, a representative from FM Global, presented the award to Mike Marshall, Deputy Fire Chief, on July 25, 2011. The award will be used to assist with fire prevention activities to help educate the community and reduce the number of fires. Through its Fire Prevention Grant Program, FM Global awards grant money quarterly to fire departments that best demonstrate a need for funding, where dollars can have the most demonstrable impact on preventing fire, or mitigating the damage it can quickly cause.

$3000 Wal-Mart Community Foundation Award

The Hermantown Volunteer Fire Department recently received a $3,000 check from the Wal-Mart Community Foundation Award.   Chad Leppi, Wal-Mart Store Manager- Hermantown, presented the donation to HVFD Chief Clint Buchite at the Grand Opening of the Hermantown store on September 14, 2011.  The monies will be used to purchase new boots and helmets for volunteer firefighters.

With the help of grant money and donations, we are able to continue our mission of protecting life and property from destruction by fire, disaster, and hazardous materials and responding to medical emergencies in our community.

 

 
     

HVFD Takes Delivery of New Extrication Equipment!
